Upon arrival to Barcelona, I tracked down Gerard Smulevich (an old friend who teaches the study abroad program for Woodbury University in Barcelona, Berlin and Buenos Aires, we taught together many years ago) who was attending a lecture by Stan Allen at the Casa Mila, went out afterwards with his class and Neil Leach (an interesting thinker by the way) to a bar in the Raval that is reputed to have the best absinth in town, a place that has stayed the same since Picasso and Modigliani drank the grande wormwood there too. Marsealla, I think the name was...
Three glasses and I was hammered.
