Kutiman, Andrew Han and Marcel Mariën

My old friend Andrew Hahn has been writing an essay about the Belgian Surrealist Marcel Mariën and his essay "Un autre cinema", a manifesto about collage in film. Andrew back and front fills the history of this aesthetic, and he's doing a magisterial job of it, I can't wait to read the final version and post it in this blog.

Along the way, Andrew introduced me to Kutiman, a YouTube collagist whose work reminded me of the Yam Jam shenanigans of yore, links here, here, here, here and here. That last link is a pale reflection of what Kutiman has done, I want to learn his skills in YouTube collage.
